THE FOX

I saw him going through the aspen trees. The trees were white, with green leaves dancing at the top of their heads. He was silent as the afternoon stillness, as he went with the rhythm of the wild. I called to him, with a small noise between my lips. He turned to me. I said "I love you". He continued his journey. I quietly followed. Again I called. Again I said "I love you". He slowed his pace and glanced at me. My pace was slower too. He had never seen me before, probably had never seen a man in the wild. I made one last small noise, and he stopped, turned, and smiled. I said "I love you". He said "I love you too". Im now only fifty feet away from him. I was kneeling down. He said in silence, “What do you want of me?” I said “Jump up on that rock, so I can share you with the world.”
